There have been no reports of year 2000 problems with any Aardvark
Software product.
All dates are stored internally in double precision floating point field and
are manipulated using Microsofts Visual Basic routines. These fields also include
the time of day. Such dates are valid from the 1700s to past the year 2100. The only
dates that are used by these products are the date a file was saved and the date a file
was processed or printed. Therefore, such dates will not be prior to 1980, when the PC was
first released. The limitation to dates past 2108 involves the PCs handling of dates
in its directories and is not a limitation of either Aardvark products or Visual Basic.
Pretty Printer
Through version 4.0, the current and file dates were only used on the page
header/footer and are formatted according to control panel settings. In version 5.0 and
6.0, the file and printing date are saved in ASCII in a history file. These are formatted
in early releases according to the user's specifications and in later releases with
explicit four-digit years.
Polisher
Through version 4.0, the current and file dates were only used for comments. In
version 5.0 and 6.0, the file and printing date are saved in ASCII in a history file.
These are formatted with explicit four-digit years.
Compare
